I may be showing some appreciation for Shaun White this week but I also must show some love for another talented Snowboarder. I can’t possibly imagine what it must be like to be as close to the Olympics as Kevin Pearce was and then to have it all taken away just like that. Pearce is an extremely talented snowboarder from Vermont who has himself beaten the great Shaun White in competitions and was planned to be a great asset to the U.S. in this years Olympics. Unfortunately just over a month before Olympics began Pearce got in a horrible snowboarding accident that now leaves him struggling to walk and talk and is forced to watch the Olympics in hospital beads. Apparently he is recovering better than doctors expected especially after he was told that had he not been wearing a helmet he would have most certainly died but he still has a long way to go. I could only hope that he is one day able to snowboard again and show the world what he is capable of. Good Luck Kevin.
